Classified Advert Writing For Success

by Gail Richardson on February 26, 2011

Classified advertising is an incredibly successful way to promote and market yourself on the Internet. Craigslist, and other sites like it, get millions of hits per month which is why this is a great way to access your target market.Of course, if you really want to get a lot from your classified advertising, you need to be able to write ads that will get you results you want. You can’t put up just anything and expect it to send hundreds of visitors to you. There are some specific things that you need to keep in the forefront of your mind and this article will explain three hints that you can use to help you write your ad.

A truly effective ad will have a strong call to action so that there is no guesswork as far as what to do. If you want people to come to your website and sign up for your newsletter, then you need to tell them that in plain English. If you want them to email you for more information, then let them know that. You can’t expect people to be able to read your mind as far as what to do. You should never expect your prospects to automatically know what you are seeking of them. Your prospects must be treated like laymen and you must explain things in short, simple language. Beyond that, it’s important that your ad copy follows all the rules that successful copywriters follow, and having a call to action is one of those rules that you must solidify in your brain.

The body of your ad should contain the most critical benefits of your product or service. Even if your headline is the best in the world, your ad won’t have the slightest effect unless the body is just as good. Your prospect needs to connect with what’s written in your ad’s body because if he/she doesn’t find the obvious benefits in it, then the ad won’t look appealing. The best way to make sure that the complete ad is perfect is to look at it from a third person’s point of view. You could also let someone else read it to see if they find your ad appealing on an emotional level.

Last but not the least; test what you’re writing. In other words, write different variations of your copy and test them against each other so that you know which one’s performing the best. This will give you a good idea about which ads you should create regularly because they give you the most results.

Finally, your ad should be direct and let the reader know exactly what problem the product it represents helps solves; don’t use flowery language or humor. Your goal is always to get targeted traffic who want what you have to offer because this will guarantee that more people will buy if you have something of value.  If you need a wonderful resource for ROI based internet marketing, check out WebRankingSEO.com – call (407) 876-5771 or visit for more information regarding search engine optimization services, search engine optimization and Orlando search engine marketing.
